One comes along with his toddler, because it falls asleep better. Another one dreams himself away and makes vague plans. A third one is scared by the thought of flying. Berliners at the fence of the airport Tempelhof, united in idleness and wanderlust. To follow planes with the eyes is a laconic pastime. The camera tells it in a laconic way - collecting impressions. While not-thinking the deepest thoughts might come up. Meanwhile, the airport is just a memory, a huge wasteland in the heart of Berlin. (Alexandra Seitz, Viennale Catalogue)
My first documentary film was also the start of a long work relationship with sound engineer Johannes Schmelzer-Ziringer (Drifter, Gerda's Schweigen, At Home). This also applied for the excellent Sound designer Malte Bieler (The Cut, Global Player, Lessons of a Dream) with whom I continued working for Sollbruchstelle and BodaBoda
